Crowns Up Learning is a brand that was created by an educator and youth development professional who noticed a lack of diversity and representation in books, educational resources, and personnel. The founder of the brand had been working in the education industry for 14 years and had become a new parent. During this time, they realized that there was a significant problem with the school-to-prison pipeline, which is a system that disproportionately affects students of color.
